Frederick Md Law Firm Remsburg and McGill

What is Mediation?
Mediation is a growing option for those in legal situations who want to settle outside the courtroom. Mediation allows two or more parties to discuss an issue and often reach an agreement versus having a settlement imposed by a third party. Mediation can be used in most cases.

Mediators use techniques and skills to open dialogue between the parties. They help the parties cover a set agenda of issues and ultimately help both parties reach agreeable settlements to their differences. It is a facilitated negotiation process where the results are documented and provided as a record to all involved parties.

How We Can Help
Both Chris Remsburg and Kelly McGill are trained mediators for civil and domestic disputes. We are able to review your situation and determine if Mediation is an option for resolution. Many clients find that mediation saves them both time and money and ultimately lets them have a say in the outcome of the disagreement.

What is Collaborative Law?
Christine Remsburg offers Collaborative Law counsel to our clients. Collaborative law is a new trend in handling divorce and/or custody cases where the client works closely with the attorney and team of experts/coaches in all areas of concern to include:

  • Finance
  • Children
  • Therapists
  • Divorce coaches
  • Social services and more

Christine Remsburg is certified in Collaborative Law and works with our clients to resolve all relevant issues of concern for families undergoing divorce or custody situations. Ultimately Chris and our Collaborative Law option allows our clients control over their circumstances rather than resorting to litigation.

 Our Commitment
At Remsburg & McGill, we promise to guide you through the legal services you require with honest and personal attention to your case.  We will clearly and simply explain the legal requirements and options for your particular situation, and then,  provide an explanation of your options to help you choose your best course of action.  We can also help offer additional guidance as to how your decision will effect your current and future situation.  We will stay with you through the process offering our support and advice to keep you in charge of your case.

Our Initial Consultation
In most cases we offer a free consultation because many people are unsure how a law firm can help them in their particular situation.  In Family Law matters, we keep the initial consultation fee to only $100.  The initial consultation allows us a brief understanding of your particular challenge and gets us thinking about how we can help you.  Even a brief consultation provides some peace of mind from knowing there is a solution and that you can have good counsel and guidance throughout the entire process.  Regardless of your situation or challenge, contacting us is the first step to facing your concerns head on and resolving the situation.
